Dear Pacific Center Community,
We hope this message finds you well and thriving. As we navigate through the ever-changing landscape of our lives, we are excited to share some significant developments and upcoming Pride events with you.
A New Beginning: Our Move
Change is the only constant, and it is with great enthusiasm that we announce our recent move to a new location in the heart of downtown Berkeley. Our new space reflects our commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all members of our community. The Pacific Center team has been working tirelessly to ensure that our new space is accessible, inclusive, and designed with your needs in mind. Our new address is: Pacific Center for Human Growth 2130 Center Street, Suite 200 Berkeley, CA 94704
We can't wait for you to visit our new home and experience the vibrant energy it exudes. Our open house/Grand Re-Opening will take place on Friday, October 13, 2023. Hope to see you there!
Clinical Director Position: is responsible for implementing, evaluating, and collaborating with other staff to ensure the effectiveness, relevancy, and sustainability of the Pacific Center’s Clinical Services, which includes the robust clinical training program. Clinic Director reports directly to the Executive Director and supervises a diverse staff consisting of licensed clinicians and support staff who provide program delivery. These programs include the clinical training program (16-36 in school and post-graduate masters and doctoral level clinicians), as well as volunteer and contracted clinical supervisors. Intake Specialist: reports to the Senior Intake and Quality Assurance Manager (IQA) in support of intake processes at Pacific Center’s Clinic (the Clinic) and community programs; welcoming clients to the center, client registration, client assignments (as needed), waitlist and caseload management, and supporting training and orientation process. The Intake Specialist collaborates across the agency to ensure that client referrals and intakes are completed in alignment with State and County guidelines and reporting requirements, and Pacific Center’s Mission, Values, and Diversity Equity & Inclusion Initiatives. Older Adult Program Manager: provides programmatic and clinical support and supervision for the various parts of Pacific Center’s programming for LGBTQ+ older adults. This program provides therapeutic support groups, led by Clinical Interns and trained peer facilitators, and occasional short term case management. Program participants with severe mental illness (SMI) can be offered additional support by way of linkage and referrals for any additional needed services. Please visit this link for more information on each listing and information on how to apply.
Sponsor a Room or a Project!
We are still seeking sponsors for our Luminaries Project Room Sponsor Program (a great way to leave a legacy!), and as well as underwriters for our tech projects (three hybrid meeting rooms, and computer stations for our flexible community space and youth space). If you would like to sponsor a room, please contact Christopher. If you want to sponsor a project, contact Lasara.
Upcoming Oakland Pride/Pridefest Events - September 10th
East Bay Pride Month is just beginning, and the celebration of love, diversity and unity kicks into high gear this weekend as Oakland Pride/Pridefest host the annual Pride Parade and Festival on Sunday, September 10th in Uptown Oakland. We invite you to join us for a day filled with festivities, empowerment and connection. We are particularly honored that Pacific Center is being recognized on Sunday by East Bay Stonewall Democrats for our support of trans youth, and we will be joining these fabulous folx for their breakfast on the parade route at Fluid 510 from 8:00-10:00 AM to celebrate. Hope to see you there! Next, be sure to stop by our Pacific Center Booth at the Oakland Pride/Pridefest Fesival! We'll have a dedicated space where you can connect with our team, learn about our services, and engage in meaningful conversations throughout the day. We look forward to coming together to celebrate and continue fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment within our community. As we embrace change and get ready to celebrate Oakland Pride/Pridefest, we are reminded that we are each a unique and valuable part of the whole. Together, we can create positive change and amplify the voices of our LGBTQ+ community. Thank you for your continued support! We can't wait to see you at Oakland Pride on September 10, and at our new space on October 13, if not sooner!
